The Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL) is fully accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD). This achievement ensures consistent practices with defined programs allowing us to promote the continuous improvement of laboratory techniques and processes as well as disseminate information concerning the diagnosis and monitoring of animal health and disease surveillance. All WVDL personnel take a proactive role in our Quality Management System.
The WVDL Madison Laboratory is a designated National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) Level 1 laboratory. NAHLN laboratories provide animal health diagnostic testing, methods research and development, and expertise for education and extension to detect biological threats to the nation’s animal agriculture, thus protecting animal health, public health, and the nation’s food supply.
